Myers, a medical missionary in Mississippi, said he was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King and his movement to help the poor. As a result, Myers became a doctor and has spent 22 years serving the poorest people in America. Against all odds, together with his wife Sylvia, they have created the Myers Foundation to fund their clinic in the poorest county in Mississippi. With the help of the Myers Foundation, the the people in the Mississippi Delta finally have the medical help they need.
Unfortunately,
because of medical malpractice discrimination against poor African American
communities, Dr. Myers was
forced to close Myers Foundation Christian Family Health Centers in Tchula and
The
apology, accepted with much forgiveness by Dr. Myers, has not yet resulted
in the restoration of his Christian medical
services to the poor in the Mississippi Delta. Over the years, Dr.
Myers continued toserve the medical needs of the poor by working part
time for the
Advocating
for the medical needs of chronic pain patients through the American Pain
Institute (API), Dr. Myers also provides desperately needed health care
to patients part time at the Wellness Clinic of Roland, in
